All volunteers are expected to contribute in the following activities:
- All-round assistance on campus, e.g. guiding visitors, helping to prepare workshops and campus events, giving a helpful hand to keep the campus running smoothly
- Preparation and organization of recreational activities for the participants, e.g. excursions to the city, overnight trips to places nearby, swimming classes
- Involvement in specific areas of interest like languages, sports, music
If volunteers have the time and interest, they are welcome to join special seminars and workshops on campus.
Basic requirements to be a volunteer
- 19-28 years old
- English necessary
- Very good computer skills (for computer assistant)
- Passion for media technology (for media assistant)
- Excellent networking and communication skills, both written and verbal (for PR assistant)
Job Profile for the Volunteers
There are three different profiles:
Computer assistant
- Assisting computer classes
- Maintaining computer equipment
- Creating and updating campus webpage
- Helping participants to complete assignments
Media assistant
- Assisting with creation of blogs and the quarterly campus magazine
- Supporting the publication of radio pod casts
- Assisting to organise music events on campus
- Producing audio-visual documents
- Building the campus library
- Operating the Braille printer (training will be provided)
Public Relations Assistant
- Assisting the academic team (research on teaching material, translations, facilitation of training activities)
- Researching on other NGOs to collaborate with IISE
- Contacting and visiting other NGOs to organize intern ships
- Creating flyers and brochures
- Communicating with future generation of participants
